Medicaid Modernization – what is it and where we are:
The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) enrolled Medicaid consumers in comprehensive managed care organizations (MCOs). DHS has contracted with two MCOs to provide comprehensive health care services including long-term services and supports (LTSS), which is what you are receiving from Link Associates.
All members have 90 days after initially being assigned to an MCO to request a change. After that, members may change their MCO annually, or more frequently only for good cause (i.e., member moves, provider no longer with MCO).
Effective July 1, 2019 UnitedHealthcare will no longer be serving Iowans under the Managed Care Program.
WHO IS LINK WORKING WITH?
Link Associates has contracts with two MCO’s. Until June 30. 2019, Link Associates is working with UnitedHealthCare and Amerigroup. After July 1, 2019 Link will be working AmeriGroup and Iowa Total Care. These are the companies you will need to select from if you wish to keep your services with Link. To the right are the companies and contact information for them. PLEASE let us know once you have selected your MCO so we can help coordinate all things with you.
