2007 United
Way Volunteer Recognition
On April 16, 2006 the
United Way hosted their 38th Annual Volunteer Recognition
event. The event included a dinner and recognition to
honor the volunteers who benefited Link in this past year.
This year Link Associates
was proud to nominate
Principal Financial Group’s contribution of
over 220 volunteers who provided over 900 volunteer hours.
These volunteers impacted the lives, work and living
environments of hundreds of consumers and staff by painting
and cleaning 8 homes, in addition to painting over 15,000
square feet of instructional programming areas, and office
and conference room spaces at Link’s Administrative
Building. Volunteers also interacted and supported 120
while assisting with outdoor field activities.
Additionally, Link was proud to
nominate
Kathy Parker who has been an integral part of
Leisure Services’ athletic training program for over 15
years. She has volunteered to assist individuals, as
well as teams of Special Olympians as they prepare for
local and state competitions. Kathy was chosen to
accompany the Women’s Basketball team to the first ever
National Games in 2006, wherein athletes and coaches
consumers lived side by side at Olympic Village in Ames for
8 days and 7 nights.
LINK ASSOCIATES THANKS
Principal Financial Group
And
